The Jobs and Skills Exchange helps Victorian Public Service (VPS) employees grow their career.

We were established in 2019 and are managed by the Victorian Public Sector Commission.

What we do

We offer VPS and other eligible employees:

  • access to VPS jobs before they’re advertised externally
  • priority consideration when they apply for jobs through our jobs board
  • courses and training from across the VPS
  • tailored career development resources and coaching.

We help VPS recruiters:

  • find VPS candidates to fill job vacancies
  • get temporary administrative support.

Any VPS employee can create an account

This includes employees who are:

  • ongoing
  • fixed-term
  • casual
  • part of VPS workforce programs
  • part of the Youth Cadetship Scheme
  • part of the Youth Employment Program
  • on leave.

If you’re not sure if you’re a VPS employee:

You’ll be able to apply for jobs and use our services while you’re employed.

Some public entity employees and former VPS employees can use our services for a short time. Speak to your people and culture team or contact us to see if you’re eligible.

Agency staff and contractors aren’t eligible for an account.

If you’re not eligible for a JSE account, you can still apply for any Victorian public sector job through the Victorian Government careers site.
